Since 1996, Mr. Isaacson has been an interactive industry leader assisting in the global development of self-regulatory and regulatory policies, guidelines and best practices for the interactive marketing industry.
Mr. Isaacson currently serves as the Privacy & Compliance Leader for Experian, overseeing advanced privacy and compliance affairs governing Experian’s diverse marketing services businesses and products, including Experian CheetahMail, Hitwise and Digital Advertising Solutions.

Some of Mr. Isaacson’s leadership efforts include serving as a past Co-Chair of the Messaging Anti-Abuse Working Group (MAAWG) Senders Committee, Co-Chair of the Email Sender & Provider Coalition’s (ESPC) Receiver Relations Committee, editorial Advisory Board Member to the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), Web Analytics Association (WAA) principles guidance, and leading Experian CheetahMail’s participation with numerous other global industry groups including the Direct Marketing Association (DMA) and Anti-Phishing Working Group.
Mr. Isaacson regularly publishes industry white papers, including recent ones on Integrating Non-Personal and Personal Data and European Email Deliverability. He has also published articles for Practising Law Institute, The IAPP Privacy Advisor, TrustE, ClickZ, Credit and Collections Magazine and regularly posts articles on Experian CheetahMail’s EmailResponsibly.com blog.
Prior to joining Experian, Mr. Isaacson led The Isaacson Group, an interactive marketing and e-policy consultancy. His previous roles include serving as the Executive Director of the Association for Interactive Marketing (AIM), a former DMA subsidiary which included pioneering numerous self-regulatory practices for the email, online marketing and interactive television industries.
Mr. Isaacson is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) with the IAPP and is completing a J.D. at the Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego, CA.
Dennis Dayman is Co-Founder of Privacology.com. He has more than 20 years of experience combating spam, security/privacy issues, data governance issues, and improving email delivery through industry policy, ISP relations and technical solutions. As Eloqua’s Chief Privacy and Security Officer, Dayman leverages his experience and key relationships to provide best practices to Eloqua, its customers, and ensures the compliance of their communications data flows. He is also responsible for coordinating and managing Eloqua’s international electronic commerce, privacy and Internet related policy issues.
Prior to Eloqua, Dayman worked at StrongMail Systems as the Director of Deliverability, Privacy, and Standards. Dayman has also served in the Internet Security and Legal compliance division for Verizon Online, as a senior consultant at Mail Abuse Prevention Systems (MAPS), and started his career as Director of Policy and Legal External Affairs for Southwestern Bell Global, now AT&T.
As a longstanding member of several boards and advisory committees within the messaging industry, including helping found and server on the Board of Director’s for the Messaging Anti-Abuse Working Group (MAAWG), serve on the Coalition Against Unsolicited Commercial Email (CAUCE) board, serve on the International Association of Privacy Professional (IAPP) advisory boards, server on the Email Sender and Provider Coalition (ESPC) board, Direct Marketing Association (DMA) Ethics committee, Email Experience Council (EEC) MAC, and appointed a Ponemon Institute Fellow. Dayman is actively involved in creating current Internet and digital communication regulations, privacy/security policies and anti-spam legislation laws for state and federal governments.
Dayman holds a B.A. in Criminal Justice from Stephen F. Austin State University in Texas.
James Koons is Listrak’s Chief Privacy Officer, overseeing privacy & compliance, deliverability and customer service for the Lititz, PA based eCommerce solutions provider. With over 20 years of experience in IT systems management and information security, Mr. Koons brings a broad range of expertise to the table. His passion for eCommerce began during his time at Amazon.com and has carried through to present-day at Listrak. Working in both a tactical and strategic role, Mr. Koons enjoys the hands on support just as much as the administrative and strategic guidance he provides.
In addition to deliverability and customer service, overseeing privacy & compliance is also one of Mr. Koons’ duties at Listrak. He commands a comprehensive understanding of the broad legal frameworks that govern commercial email and international electronic commerce. Currently pursuing his CIPP/US certification from the IAPP, Mr. Koons is active in many key organizations such as the ESPC (Email Sender and Provider Coalition) and the OTA (Online Trust Alliance). “Privacy has never been as important as it is today. Understanding the laws that govern commercial email is important to everybody – from email service providers to the mailbox providers. Privacy issues likewise interest every organization that runs an email server, and every private citizen with an email account that’s ever been spammed.”
Shaun Brown is a partner with nNovation LLP, a pre-eminent Canadian law firm that advises private and public sector organizations in connection with a broad range of Canadian regulatory regimes. With several years of experience both in the public and private sectors, Shaun’s practice focuses on e-commerce, e-marketing, privacy, access to information and information security, assisting clients on the following matters:
- Compliance with privacy legislation and best practices, both in the public and private sectors
- Advising on strategies to obtain access to information
- Representing clients before tribunals and courts dealing with privacy and access to information matters
- Developing e-marketing campaigns in compliance with anti-spam and privacy legislation and best practices

Prior to private practice, Shaun worked for Industry Canada as a privacy and security policy analyst.

Tom Bartel is Co-Founder of Privacology.com. He has served as Secretary on the Board of Directors at the Online Trust Alliance (OTA) since 2009. The OTA is a non-profit with the mission to enhance online trust, while promoting innovation and the vitality of the internet. OTA’s goal is to help educate businesses, policy makers and stakeholders while developing and advancing best practices and tools to enhance the protection of users’ security, privacy and identity.
Tom spent 10 years with email security firm Return Path directing sender reputation and certification services and serving as Chief Privacy Officer. He has a total of 18 years experience working in email delivery, services, and technology including roles with Email Publishing, MessageMedia, and DoubleClick.
As a Founder at Switch Labs, Inc, Tom is driving innovation of email technology to empower mailbox providers and domain owners to manage bounced email, generating revenue and threat intelligence data for anti-spam solutions. Previously, he developed email deliverability as a service as co-founder at Assurance Systems.
Tom is certified by the International Association of Privacy Professionals as a Certified Information Privacy Professional – United States and holds a B.A. in Speech Communications from Colorado State University.
